Angel Lake, Wells, Nevada

Angel Lake, only a mile or so further in the mountainside from Angel Creek in Wells, Nevada, is really a spectacular campground. We pulled in here during a significant thunderstorm and enjoyed a beautiful drive while winding in the mountainside spotting lightning all around us. Once we reached the campground, and that is a little area nestled straight into the peak from the mountain, We‘re stunned from the beauty before us. I immediately thought of Glacier National Park, but on an inferior scale. We drove all around the loop and realized that sites were very narrow and never nearly so long as the reservation system indicated. We reached our reserved site, and sadly, found that it was eventually too narrow because of overgrown, low-lying trees and likewise far shorter than its advertised 35 feet. We spoke towards the camp host and he‘d simply there is no other spots available that many of us could squeeze into and said that many of us did reserve perhaps one of the largest sites. I‘d been
devastated. The camp host advised that rigs no larger than about 25 feet can stay here. Larger rigs are best suited down at Angel Creek.
The campground’s nicest feature, a fisherman’s paradise, is really a Angel Lake, situated just beyond the trees inside the bottom of the photo. The small lake is surrounded from the steep walls from the mountain which have been carved out by glaciers, and is really a beautiful setting for enjoying a peaceful morning hike, canoe ride, or perhaps a picnic. Campsites here do not have hookups, offer the amazing view inside my post picture, paved pads, concrete picnic table pads and tables, and in fact, fire rings. There‘s a day use parking zone and campground roads are paved. The campground is closed in winter.
