Set in the foot of spectacular walls of eroding sediment, Cedar Pass Campground is just one of two camps inside the boundary from the park. Another camp, Sage Creek, is primitive and just accessible via a dirt road that often closes after heavy rains. Cedar Pass is basically the options for RVers.

The camp has amazing views from the Badlands from all 96 sites. About half the sites have electric hookups, and that is nice during summer months when temperatures can approach the 90+ mark. July is that the hottest month here, and late spring and early fall are the very best times to come, as temperatures tend to be more moderate. Sites within Cedar Pass are pull-off
sites, not back-in or pull-thrus, and thus offer little space for slide outs or longer rigs. Sites are grassy and maybe have a picnic table with shade canopies. Campfires aren‘t permitted. Sites happen to be recently been made available via reservations, with stunning views and few options inside the area, recommended. The Badlands Visitor’s Center, lodge and a little gift store are adjacent towards the camp. Night Sky Programs and Junior Ranger Programs can also be found in the amphitheater and Visitor’s
Center.
