Colter Bay is really a well-developed village within Grand Teton National Park. The Bay itself hosts two different campgrounds, Colter Bay Campground and Colter Bay RV Park.

We stayed in the RV park since it‘s the perhaps one of the few campgrounds inside the park that offers reservations and We‘re concerned that throughout the summer peak season, we would not have the ability to snag a site to support our rig. The RV park also offers full hookups, which sounded good to us after several nights of primitive camping in nearby National Parks. Once we pulled in, We‘re surprised by how wooded and rustic this RV park was. Colter Bay offers several hundred sites, but maintains a far more rustic feel by having an abundance of pine trees between sites. Paved interior roads and dirt pads await you, together with your full hookup site. Sites are decently spaced considering It‘s an RV park. Adjacent towards the RV park are lots of amenities including, the Visitor’s Center, Jackson Lake, a tackle shop, boat rentals, boat launch, restaurant, café, large laundry facility, showers, a gift shop, horseback riding tours and also a fully stocked market. The marketplace was so great we actually stocked up on groceries for leftover nights in our trip and had no problem finding what it is that we needed. Throughout the day, Colter Bay’s village area gets busy using the hustle and bustle of visitors and lots of boaters. The RV park is really a bit isolated from all the activity, but close enough to hitch in. If you favor more primitive camping and much more spacious sites, the first-come, first-served sites of Colter Bay Campground are further faraway from the village area. Sites inside the Colter Bay Campground do not typically fill until late afternoon. One huge disappointment for those in both the campground and also the RV park ; there aren‘t any views from the Grand Teton peaks.
