After viewing this amazing National Monument, we cruised with the National Park campground at Devil’s Tower, but opted to remain in the KOA. Usually we would rather steer clear of the KOA chain if possible, but found that this type of one was scenic, had views from the monument, was conveniently located in the entrance from the park, and offered big rig friendlier sites compared to the National Park campground.

An excellent souvenir shop, restaurant, ice cream shop and few grocery supplies can be found here. Interior roads are gravel and sites are either grassy or gravel. Sites here felt more spacious than many We‘ve encountered in other KOA parks. In fact, full hookup sites can be found and all sites provide spectacular views from the monument. A tenting area offers sites closer towards the Belle Fourche River which has created the park and cabins sit alongside the river. The campground is surrounded by grassy, open fields offering beautiful views of the area. Staff were friendly and also a playground, pool, bicycle rentals and hayrides are available here. Reservations are recommended, because private park inside a premier location fills up quickly throughout the summer season.
