A beautiful drive along Interstate 84 in Oregon leads one to this wooded campground. We pulled in rich in hopes after reading their website and carefully choosing this park over others. Unfortunately, We‘re disappointed by several factors : Road noise, insufficient amenities, and poor communication of amenities involving the park and campers. The website claims this state park, and that is wooded, beautiful, historical, and easily accessed coming from the interstate, includes a full basketball court and baseball field. Neither were found during our stay. We also were surprised once we asked camp hosts about hiking trails the park ranger has, blurry maps and also to just start walking over there. Will be the trails loops? Exist trails that result in springs which help name the park? We‘d several unanswered questions. The website also suggests that there will be living history exhibits, but those are only available upon the weekends. The foremost disappointing feature here, however, is that the constant noise coming from the interstate. Nearly a quarter from the sites back as much as the interstate, which really takes far from the gorgeous scenery that it park offers. There will be tall, old growth forest trees here and each site offers beautiful, wooded scenes (some obtain a bonus view from the interstate ), however the noise from the interstate is prevalent. This camp is located down the Oregon Trail and also a meager, outdoor exhibit is open to visitors. There‘s also several day use picnic sites. Another plus : there‘s a lovely loop of horse campsites which feature horse corrals and scenic sites for all those camping with the four legged friends ! Despite the noise, the park is popular during summer months and reservations are recommended, especially weekends.
