Furnace Creek Ranch is just one of nine campgrounds found within Death Valley National Park, and one among only two campgrounds that enables reservations, which may be necessary throughout the peak park times during the winter and spring.

Centrally located inside the park, Furnace Creek Ranch offers the foremost amenities of any campground inside the park, nevertheless it lacks views and spacious sites. If you‘re attempting to find a park with hookups, then this is actually the place you would like to park for the stay, as each site offers water, electric and sewer hookups. Sites are
pretty close together and provide little to no privacy from neighbors, although shrubbery surrounds a lot of the camp and prevents vistas. Sites are dirt and rocky, so we found leveling to become a challenge here, even with automatic leveling jacks. Most sites are occupied by what appear to become full-timers or snowbirds. In the Ranch you will see a number of entertainment and amenities, including : The Borax Museum, the Death Valley NP Visitor’s Center, two restaurants, a saloon, bike rentals, common campfire pits, a gift shop / convenience market, laundry facilities and a golf course. A gas station is simply adjacent towards the Ranch. Just over the road you will see perhaps one of the National Park campgrounds, Sunset, which we found to become a better option if views are what you are looking for and you may camp comfortably without hookups. Also, the lighting of the resort causes it to be slightly more difficult to benefit from the night skies which are designated being an International Dark Sky Park. The Inn and Furnace Creek, Furnace Creek Campground, a dump station and many park trail heads are within a couple of miles of camp.
