Rare White Giraffes Remind Us How Amazing Our World Can Be

Rare White Giraffes Remind Us How Amazing Our World Can Be – Our world is indeed a special place, but every once in awhile It‘s nice to get a reminder of just how beautiful it could be. Among those reminders came earlier inside the week each time a set of two white giraffes were spotted in Kenya. It was eventually there, that visitors towards the Hirola Conservation Area were caught completely off guard once they came across a mother and calf, both of which were completely white. Fortunately, they could capture some video footage to talk about with the remainder of people.

But, the creatures do not suffer from albinism as some suspected. Instead, there is a very rare genetic condition called leucism. This trait does not allow an animal to make pigmentation in its skin cells, while other organs can always form naturally. Albino animals usually have pink eyes, but these giraffes – along with other creatures with leucism – have natural looking eyes instead.

Fortunately, this trait does not have any lasting influence on their capcapacity to survive inside the wild, and during this case the mother obviously passed upon the rare genetic defect towards the calf. But, as you will see inside the video below, it gives them a unique quality that‘s simply magical. Something tells me the Hirola Conservation Area is going to get much more visitors.
