This little RV park is upon the fringe of town, adjacent towards the train tracks that historically gave life for this little Old West town. Friends of ours had stayed in Medora on the previous trip and raved about Medora and it is adjacent National Park, Teddy Roosevelt. We decided to labor this stop into our itinerary, and We‘re glad we did.

Teddy Roosevelt National Park is broken into two sections, separated by most miles, the southern and northern units. Medora is in the gateway towards the southern unit. Our intentions were to remain inside the southern unit for a couple of nights, and visit Medora for a couple of hours on our way our from the park. During our visit, an open road straight into the southern unit was being repaired. We caused it to be just a few miles straight into the park before
turning around, like the road was graded right all the way down to a really rough gravel road, so we did not wish to rattle our rig to death. So, we opted to head to Medora and stay at this little RV park we saw on our way into town. The park is older, but was fine for our particular two night stay. We enjoyed the convenience from the short walk into Medora (an adorable Old West town with many neat shops and history ! ) and also the evening shuttle service towards the Medora Musical. This older park has gravel sites situated underneath a grove of trees, providing many shade throughout the hot summer days. The staff was very pleasant and took time to locate us a site that allowed us to make use of our satellite without having the obstruction of trees. Sites are close together, but since we spent most in our day in Medora, proximity to neighbors would be a non-issue. A little convenience store offers a couple of grocery items you‘ll need. Evening music / entertainment is provided, that was interesting…. Altogether, it was an excellent place for those to remain. Using the exception from the trains which may be heard with the night, the campground suited our needs just fine. In hindsight, We Might have rather spent only one night here rather than two, and spent two nights inside the upper unit from the North Unit.
