We‘re so excited to remain at this RV Resort. With reservations to ride Jerry’s Rogue River Jets in Gold Beach, we wanted a place which was a convenient and offered us admittance to the local beaches as well as riverfront and also the scenery which comes together with that. In all my online research I had completed while planning our itinerary, I‘d been most enthusiastic about stumbling across this place, because it sounded as though it was eventually a real resort ! Both riverfront and oceanfront, this site’s website offered beautiful photos of the lush resort complete with awesome views and RV sites with private spa decks. Plus, it were identified as one among Oregon’s Top Riverfront Resorts consistent with Good Sam’s ratings.
Upon arrival, we learned very quickly the resort had a really talented photographer who were able to capture only the right angle on every photo. As We‘re approaching the resort along Highway One, I said, That is not it. Well, unfortunately the shabby building having a weak coat of electric blue paint using the letters RV PARK upon the roof was it. We pulled straight into the gravel entryway and passed a storage area where people seemed to be living with their RVs regardless of the Storage Are sign. The front office buildings were nicely maintained, but upon check in, the staff was curt and never friendly. We also were frustrated using the extra fees upon check in which added nearly $40 to our total bill, bringing the tab to perhaps one of the highest nightly rates We‘ve ever paid. She recommended a bar across the road that looked very shady to us. We pulled in with the park and saw unkempt grass patches, a smattering of cottages, and drove the gravel and dirt bumpy road to our premium site with a personal deck and spa down the riverfront. The website was pushed right up next to some permanent resident’s cottage, so we spent some time taking a look at their shabby decor out on the deck. The website was nice and wide, experienced a lovely deck with some nice, new furniture, and also the spa was adequate. We quickly realized the riverfront wasn‘t the Rogue River, and were excited the beachfront was just a brief walk away. We did enjoy some amazing sunsets from our patio with ocean and river views. The park does have laundry, bathhouses, hookups, wifi, group facilities, an exercise room, DVD rentals, a little, meager supply of supplies inside the store, and Jerry’s Rogue River Jets will give a complimentary shuttle service back and forth from the campground. Campsites have either grass or gavel pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. We visited look into the laundry facility and I‘d been really happy to possess completed our laundry at our previous campground, as these facilities were located upstairs and past some kind of sewer drain that emitted a horrible stench. Highway One noise was audible throughout day and night also.
Altogether, I might claim that this park is overrated, expensive, run down, and I wouldn‘t stay here again if visiting the area. There are many parks down the Rogue River that I might explore instead.
